The 10th Guidelines International Network (G-I-N) Conference theme is, "Integrating Evidence into Practice - Strategies for the Future". The conference will be a unique venue for learning from worldwide attendees who will share their knowledge and experiences regarding guideline development, dissemination, adaptation and, especially, implementation. The opportunities to learn and grow will extend to ongoing collaborative relationships with new and old colleagues across disciplines from all over the world who share our daily challenges.
The focus of the 21st Cochrane Colloquium is "Better Knowledge for Better Health|Un meilleur savoir pour une meilleure santé", that is how evidence informs health care decisions at every level – from patient to practitioner, to institutional or government policy-maker. Colloquium delegates include a combination of researchers and scientist, health practitioners, policy-makers, consumers/patients, cochrane contributors and students.
What is overdiagnosis? What do we know about overdiagnosis? What can we do about overdiagnosis? As it moves through these three questions, the conference will have two interrelated themes or tracks: one theme will explore the science and methods used to identify and quantify over-diagnosis, and more than half of the conference will comprise scientific presentations; the other related theme explores the meaning of over-diagnosis, what’s driving it and how best to respond to it, with a focus on communicating information about overdiagnosis to health professionals, policy makers and the public.
As with the previous editions, the Congress aims to improve the quality and credibility of scientific peer review and publication and to help advance the efficiency, effectiveness, and equitability of the dissemination of biomedical information throughout the world.
The Health Services Research Association of Australia and New Zealand was established following the highly successful 1st Health Services and Policy Research Conference in 1999 to facilitate communication across researchers, and between researchers and policymakers, to promote education and training in health services research, and to ensure sustainable capacity in health services research in Australia and New Zealand.
